Where are you heading?

What’s your destination and how are you going to get there?

When you get up in the morning do you have a set routine to start your day?  Shower, teeth clean, coffee, breakfast or perhaps you jump out of bed, get dressed in an instant and apply your make up on the train…time being the essence.

Talking of TIME, are you actually enjoying how you spend your time?

Our working life takes up a good portion of our day and we do in fact spend more time with our co-workers than we do our own families.

  • Are you going to a place of work that supports your ambitions? 
  • Is your daily life surrounded by people who support you and who you feel totally connected with?
  • Do you feel fulfilled and content at the end of your working day?
  • Are you living your life on purpose?

Over the years working as an Emotional Health Consultant so many people share with me that they feel unfulfilled, fed up in their current roles and feel like they are just going through the motions of a nine to five job.  On a hamster wheel of trundling along, day in day out with little joy or happiness in what they are doing.

Over 8 years ago although I was relatively happy at my place of employment I felt like something was missing and that I wasn’t using my full potential.

I’d been working part time as a therapist alongside my day job and this is what I wanted to do more of.

The Universe really must have been hearing my wishes as my employed contact came to an end.  I could have either sought out another paid position doing a similar role or take a risk and do what my heart’s calling was telling me to do.

I stopped and began to take stock of my life and where I was heading.  It’s something that was long over due.

I’m now doing the work I love and so much so it doesn’t ever seem like work.

To wake up every day excited about what the day will bring well there’s no better feeling than that.

Do the work you love and you won’t work a day in your life!

  • When was the last time you sat down and actually thought about where you are and where you want to be?
  • Take a moment now and reflect on how happy you are doing what you’re doing. On a scale of one to ten, 10 being your absolute happiest.  Where are you on that scale?
  • If it’s anything less than a 10.  What do you need to start doing, stop doing or do differently to get to a 10?
  • If you could do anything what would you do?
  • If you were to follow your heart, your passion and your dreams acting as if you could not fail how soon would you leave your day job?
  • There is no evidence except in your thinking that what you want to do isn’t achievable

Take the first step in faith.  You don’t have to see the whole staircase.  Just take the first step – Martin Luther King Jr

My advice to you knowing how quickly time flies and having wasted much of my time being too afraid to take risks, I’m now on the other side of fear and I’m flying and you can too.

Spend some time getting  clear on what you want for your future. Take action towards achieving your dreams, it will be worth it!

Will you look back on regrets of all the things you didn’t do when your end is near or will you look back and say, ”I followed my dreams and lived my life on purpose?

Girls Just Wanna have Fun!

It’s true that girl’s just wanna have fun and that could be a night out on the town until all hours or indeed a girls night in with your besties.

When was the last time you had a raucous girls night in?

An evening of laughter, sharing and caring, with a good few glasses of wine and some yummy nibbles thrown in?

The kind of night when you have laughed your heads off and been told things you can’t put that on your blog because you have been swarn to secrecy…you know who you are and I love you!

For me a girls night in every so often is a must!

It’s a place where you can talk your heart out, laugh, cry, share your hopes and dreams as well as sharing your troubles.  A place to let your hair down and kick off your shoes.

Do you have those kinds of friends too?

Friends that are there for you unconditionally?

Friends who will listen to you ranting while you’re having a moan?

Friends who are excited for you when they hear of your achievements?

Friends who will laugh and cry with you?

Woman are amazing!

If you haven’t had a girls night in for a while the benefits are huge.  Check out your diary, set a date and make some calls.

Over the years I’ve worked with people who have moved away from their home towns or for one reason or another want to make new friends.  There are so many women out there who might be in the exact same situation only to willing to have a girls night in our out for that matter.

Take risks.  Strike up new conversations.  Join some local classes in your area and find like minded people you’d like to be friends with.  The people you don’t know now may well turn out to be lifelong friends.

Change Isn’t Always a Bad Thing

There’s a saying that goes ”A change is as good as a rest” Have you heard it?

Just today someone contacted me as they were fearful of an unexpected change in their lives.  I asked them the following questions:

  • What do you know for certain about this change?
  • What is this an opportunity for?
  • What haven’t you yet thought of that could be a positive about this change?
  • What are you moving away from that you’re pleased to let go of?
  • What are you moving towards that could actually be beneficial to you?

There’s another saying that goes ”the only think to fear is fear itself” and change is like that too!

FEAR = Failure To Experience Actual Reality.

Half of what we worry about never comes true!

That’s a heck of a lot of wasted energy and worrying when you could have been spending time on doing something fun.

Read through and record how many of the automatic negative thoughts you identify with when it comes to change or anything else that’s been worrying you come to that.   You can apply this exercise to anything.

Simply mentally tick off the statements that are true for you or record in a journal which statements you think the most often. In doing so you will become aware of how many of your thoughts are automatic negative thoughts that are in fact not based on reality at all.

Automatic Negative Thought





Mind reading Assume that you know what people are thinking
Fortune telling Predicting the future in a negative way
Judging View yourself/others/events  in terms of good/bad
Labelling Giving global negative meanings about yourself and others
Ignoring the positives Positive things aren’t recognised or seem trivial
Blowing things out of scale Believe that what will happen will be unbearable
Personalising Assume self blame for negative events
Over generalising See a global pattern of negatives based on a single event
‘Should’s’ Seeing people and events as to how you think they ‘should’ be
Negative filtering Focus on the negative, ignoring the positive
Focusing on regrets Focus on the idea that you should have done better in the past
Emotional reasoning Allowing your feelings to guide your perception of reality
‘What if’ thinking Thinking about all the things that could go wrong
All or nothing thinking Black and white thinking/ only good or bad- no in between
Blaming Focusing on others as a source of your negative feelings
Unfair comparisons Focus on others who you perceive are doing better than you
Inability to discomform Reject any evidence that might contradict your negative thoughts

When it comes to change it isn’t always a bad thing!

Until the change has come to pass how can we possibly know what that change will bring?

The Power to Create

Every thought you think is creating your future!

Our minds are very powerful and we can create for ourselves a day of joy or a day of doom.

Just this morning I was reminded of this again by a friend who said the very same thing which inspired me to write this blog for you.

What kind of day do you want to create for yourself, what kind of week, month, year, FUTURE?


Much of how we spend our lives is based on the thoughts that we created.  Ideas we’ve had good or bad shape out future.  The good news is that we can change our thoughts as well as the things that no longer serve us including limiting beliefs.

  • What might you have created some time ago that no longer leaves you filled with joy?  
  • Have there been times in your life when you’ve accepted something because you may have thought there wouldn’t be different opportunities?  
  • Have you put up with something because you believed you weren’t worth more?  
  • Have you sacrificed your dreams because another person said you’d never achieve them and then their thoughts became your own?
  • Could it be that some time ago you thought you’d have to work just doing anything to pay the bills and you’re now in a job that doesn’t fulfil you?
  • Are you in a relationship that’s past it’s sell by date?
  • Is your home a place of happiness or do you wish to live closer to the sea, countryside, in town? 

What are you putting up with that’s dragging you and your thinking down? Is this really living your life with Purpose?

I want to remind you that you are a powerful creator, what you think about you can bring about.

What is it you want to create?….go do it!

I’m living proof that when we focus on what we want to create and take action towards the outcome, everything is possible.  8 years ago I set up my business without any financial backing, little emotional support from others and no guarantees that it would work.  I’ve created working with amazing clients, speaking opportunities, author opportunities, radio opportunities, magazine opportunities, in fact by taking action and having my thoughts aligned with my dreams I have actually created far more than than I dreamed of which has taught me now that creating can be a really big deal and you can have what you dream of and more.

What I’ve created for myself is a life worth living and you can do the same too.

The difference between success and failure is believing that you will be a success and acting as if it’s already a done deal.

Every day since I had a dream of doing the work I love and running it as a business, I took action, I worked through my limiting beliefs about what was possible for me.  I got clear on what I wanted, I spent time visualising it, feeling it and experiencing it even though it was to come to pass.   It’s fair to say I fell down a few times and shed more than a few tears along the way, this is all part of learning.  I had to listen to other people’s negative beliefs that I couldn’t make it work and to get a ‘proper job’, There were times when I didn’t know how I would pay my rent…still I kept going and taking action towards my dreams.

There are no limits, except in your mind. …..

  • What do you want to create?
  • Start acting as if it’s already been created…what does that look like, sound like and feel like?
  • How will you know you’ve achieved your dream?
  • What will fulfilling that dream give you that you don’t have now?
  • How will your life and the lives of others benefit from you showing up as a powerful creator in your own life?
  • What can you create today that your future self will be proud of?

Get into the flow of acting as if and add your own endings to these statements that are specific to your own personal goal/s

I love how it feels when…..

I love knowing…..

It makes me feel so good that…..

I love seeing myself…..

I enjoy…..

I’m excited at the thought of…..

I love being…..

I’m delighted that….

I appreciate….

It feels so good to be….

I’m so happy that….

Be sure to read every day for a week (or longer if you wish to) and start to notice how differently you feel about yourself and your future.

When you can change your mind set about what is possible rather than what is impossible this changes your energetic vibration, try it and see.
