Be Your Own Super Hero

Okay, so do I have your attention?

If you’ve been waiting for a knight in shining armour, a genie in a bottle or your fairy godmother to come along and they have been on a detour for as long as you can remember…it’s time to get your big girl panties on and be your own super hero.


Not so long ago someone said to me ”you’re going to need someone else to take care of you now”, little did they know I have my very own super powers and have been doing a mighty fine job of looking after myself.

It’s all too easy to get complacent in life, waiting for the good times to roll but if you’re going blue in the face from waiting or constantly checking your phone, email or social media status for the invitations, celebrations and the magic dreams are made of to fall into your lap and they’re not, here is a savvy plan for taking action.

Think about what it is you want from life.  There may be several things such as an improved career, the relationship of your dreams, good health, a palace complete with indoor spa and a fridge full of healthy foods along with a gorgeous waiter to serve them to you, the whole shoe or book collection you’ve been adding to your wish list, or maybe it’s something really simple like spending more time walking in nature.

Whatever it is you want, you can have.  You just have to start somewhere.  Rather than scattering your focus on your entire wish list and getting frustrated and exhausted waiting for the things on it to materialise, this is the alternative for waiting for your super hero to rescue you.

So…here goes, grab yourself a pen and paper:

  1. Make a list of all the things you would like to come to pass
  2. Decide on just one of these things (for now) that you are going to make your main focus
  3. Whatever this one thing is, what’s the one thing you can start with to bring this to fruition?
  4. What’s the next step, the next and the one after that?
  5. Get into the feeling place as if what you want has already happened
  6. Imagine it, enjoy it, experience it, make it real in your mind
  7. Turn up the feelings associated with your achievement, swish them all around your body…hmm, feels good doesn’t it
  8. What will you see when you have realised your dream? Make the colours in the picture brighter, sharper, stronger, clearer
  9. What will you hear when your goal is ‘living’ make the sounds inside your own mind and the external sounds louder, sharper and more defined
  10. What will you taste and smell?  Turn the smell and taste right up and savour it
  11. Act as if what you want has come to pass and spend time each day getting into the feeling, seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and sensing of your actualised experience

Raising you vibration in this way, focusing on what it is you want and acting as if it has already materialised will serve you far better than wishing, hoping and dreaming.

Begin today as you mean to go on, and if your goal is anything like mine, you will achieve the other things as part of the process of beginning now with doing the one thing that will make everything else really easy.

Always remember you are your own hero or heroine in the game of life and you can be, do and have whatever you set your mind to…on your marks, get set, go….

The Best of Friends

When you think of the word friend or friendship who or what comes to mind?

I love using a Thesaurus and found the following meanings in terms of friendship and the components of what we might mutually bring to a relationship with friends.  Reading through how many of these statements resonate with you and the friendships you’re blessed with?

  • consideration

I don’t know about you but I personally have the best of friends and have known many of them for over 35 years, oh boy, that makes me feel a little old though all things considered my friendships have lasted longer than my relationships.

Friends come in all shapes and sizes, nationalities, ages, sexes with common goals and aims or opposing opinions.  I can understand the term ‘friends for life’ as so many of us are blessed with life long friendships from the day we form the friendship until the day we die, so many wonderful experiences can be shared with friends.

I invite you to take a moment today to honour your friendships and acknowledge them in some way, whether it be a call,  meeting up, sending a greeting by social media or indeed sharing this blog post just to say ‘thank you for being my friend.’

It’s often our friends who are there for us in our darkest hours and who are the first to want to celebrate our successes.

So on that note to all my wonderful friends, I love you, thank you for being in my life, you are the best!

Raising Your Love Vibration

We all need love and heart centred connection….

Since we were mere babies, to be loved, nurtured and connected with others is a natural human need inbuilt from our earliest years.

As adults, we no longer need to be reliant to find love and connection from the outside sources; we can meet our own needs independently by going into our hearts.

Heart Based Exercise: Raising Your Love Vibration- connecting with your heart space

You can use this exercise in the written sense, writing down your answers or simply use as a visual exercise if you prefer.

Think about a dial with -10 being the lowest love score, 0 being neutral and +10 being at its highest rate of heart connection

How high is your heart connection dial right now?
• If your dial is anything less than a + 10 what do you need to start doing, stop doing or do differently to get it to a +10?
• How will your life change when you connecting with your heart space from a +10?
• What things do you love about life/yourself/others when you connect from the heart? (keep adding to that list so that you have a growing list of things to love and appreciate about yourself)
• What memories do you have of giving and receiving love?
• Remember how giving and receiving love felt, what you saw, heard and experienced, how was this achieved when you openly gave and received love through your heart?
• How can you be more loving towards yourself and others?
• What would happen if you accepted, allowed and welcomed more love into your life?
• How would your day change if you filtered for and looked for all the loving experiences you could find through heart centred awareness?
• How would your life change if you operated more from your heart and said yes to love for now and for always?

When you raise your love vibration through heart centred connection,  you feel differently about yourself and your future. When you can change your mind set about what is possible rather than what is impossible this changes your energetic vibration, try it and see.

Christmas Frazzle or Christmas Cheer ~ It’s up to you…

Dreading Christmas? 

What’s worse, the thought of endless cooking and washing up or spending time with your ‘Out Law’s

It’s all to easy at this time of year to become frazzled, overwhelmed with doing and little time for being.

Running round like a headless chicken trying to get the best turkey, stressing out as you stand in queues to pay with feet aching, busting for the toilet and your arms feel like they’re hanging off, it definitely is a case of ‘bah humbug’ and the Christmas spirit far from cheerful.

Often you get what you expect….

If you are anticipating problems getting things done, expecting grief from your in laws, the turkey getting burnt, relatives arguing or worse still fighting, what is this based on?

Often we project the past into the future experting the same thing to happen again and this is what we get.  My previous post Thought Tracking will help with this and aid for a peaceful day.

I invite you to make some you time in amongst the wrapping of presents and trying not to open the sweets you bought for Aunty Joan to have a little mind holiday called…

‘My Ideal Day’ is a creative way to get you thinking in a more positive and optimistic way from the heart.

It will move you beyond the anticipated  stress of Christmas, to a place where all things are possible, encouraging you to enjoy your day coming from the heart instead of the head.

When you focus on what you want and act as if it is already yours, it is likely to show up much sooner than you think.

On a brand new sheet of paper or in a journal, write a story about how you want your Christmas Day to be. If you don’t have a pen and paper to hand, just think it through as if you were creating an anticipated and very positive movie about how your Christmas day will shape up.

This will be no ordinary day (remember you are putting the past behind you) it will be the story of your ideal Christmas Day and how it will be when everything goes swimmingly- think specifically here about your current relationships and family dynamics and who you would like to get on better with and include that in the main content of your writing.

You will be writing this in the positive, present tense, as if what you want has already come to pass and you are enjoying your life and relationships.

  • What will your day look like?
  • What will be happening?
  • How will you be feeling?
  • What will you hear going on around you?
  • How will you be spending your time?
  • How will you be thinking differently?

Take time to go over your story, making sure it’s complete and then read your story every day in the lead up to Christmas.

By focusing on what you want, rather than what you don’t want and getting into the energy space of the heart and acting as if having the ideal Christmas day.

Seeing is Believing!

What’s your personal vision for the future in positive terms?

How will you know when you’ve achieved it?

What will it look like, sound like, feel like?

I love using a ‘Personal Vision Exercise’ when I’m working with clients. When they are in their heads trying to analyse what it is they want and why and think things through rationally they are using conscious mind.

Left too long to our own devices, bogged down with the how’s we run the risk of staying stay stuck where we are and nothing changes.

It’s out creative subconscious mind which loves to make pictures, to see visions materialise, the artist of our dreams, the creator of our reality.   Unconscious mind is expansive  and limitless.

Imagine what you can create using your mind to it’s fullest potential…

You might like to try the personal vision exercise for yourself.

  • Take a whole bunch of magazines, holiday brochures, newspapers, guides, flyers and anything which has a picture on which makes you feel good and what you want as part of your future
  • Cut out key words or write your own in and also collect anything which represents your goal as already being achieved
  • Arrange your layout in a way that feels right for you
  • You can then glue into a journal, create a vision board or apply to the inside of a clip frame or make a poster of your personal vision and goal achievement
  • Making just five minutes a day to look at your personal vision, seeing really is believing.  What your mind conceives, it can believe and it will achieve!
  • Using this process you activate all senses, sight, sound, smell, taste and feelings.  Imagine turning up a dial of your senses and getting them off the scale to really experience the joy of achieving your goals at a cellular level

Seeing really is believing.  What you choose to focus on expands.  You will find what you focus on showing up in your life more and more.

So be sure to focus on the good stuff!

If it’s health, wealth, love, success, happiness or something else entirely, make this your personal vision for your future.  It will be time well spent!

When Nothing is Certain ~ Everything is Possible!

What is it that you have been worrying about?

Who or what has been taking up your thought time?

How often does ‘not knowing’ the result of something and ‘uncertainty’ throw you off balance?

What outcome do you focus on when what you want to know about something which isn’t yet known?  

What percentage of your thoughts are positive?

It’s natural for our minds to think and prepare us for the worst case scenario when we are faced with making choices.  It tries to protect us from danger and harm.

Our animalistic’ fight and flight’ mechanisms kick in and sometimes we may also experience the freeze response and we are trapped inside our own thinking, too frightened to move.

In fact, what we create in our minds isn’t actual reality, it’s a story that we make up about what we think will happen.

I bet half of the things you’ve worried about from birth to now haven’t even happened!

Fear disables.  It stops you from growing, advancing, progressing and achieving!

Don’t let your fear based thinking get in your way, your thoughts can be changed!

I personally now tell fear to ”go and do one!”   I’m too busy thinking about what else IS possible!

FEAR = Feeling Excited And Ready!

Fear and Excitement are often felt in the gut (solar Plexus).  Don’t confuse your fear with excitement, use the energy of excitement to motivate you into achieving positive outcomes for yourself.

I personally love writing happy ending stories and getting into the mindset of what is possible…

From this moment on , begin to pay attention to your thoughts…. 

Are you thinking ‘worse case nightmare’ or ‘best possible dream’ when your mind runs riot around an unknown outcome?

My best advice is to focus on what you want, not what you don’t want!

Notice how your energy, passion and zest for life, love, health and happiness improve simply by changing your thoughts.

Over a year ago I decided to write my first book

Find YOU, Find LOVE


Back then nothing was certain!

I’d never written a book before, I didn’t know how to do it, I knew zero about publishing, marketing a book let alone know how to balance my time to write it.

I had to learn things I never knew. I had to work through some limiting beliefs about my book ‘being good enough’, I had to bring up old skeletons from my cupboard and work through them, I had to set boundaries, I had to learn a heap load of ‘stuff’ .  I had to stretch myself beyond what I thought was possible for me and I’m still stretching as we speak right now!

I focused on the positive outcome of what I wanted to achieve!

My goal  was and still is to get my book out to as many people as possible who need help with love and relationships and understanding the significant role they play in creating happy outcomes for themselves.

Part of my not knowing became clearer when I chunked down all that I had to do.  I used what seemed close to a million post it notes to form the structure and chapters of my book.

I asked for help and hired the right people to help me.  I surrounded myself with people who believed in me and also had to turn the ‘self belief’ notch right up as high as it would go.

Every day for 6 months I got up earlier, I wrote every day, I laughed, I cried, I used EFT Tapping to get me past the blocks, fears, doubts and insecurities and came out the other side with a big grin on my face when I opened my fist copies of Find YOU, Find LOVE

You can watch me here at the Book Opening  so wish I’d done my hair! But hey ho, this is me, opening the books as soon as they arrived!

Today everything is certain!

When Time Stands Still

Time flies when you’re having fun it’s true!  Though when have you experienced time standing still?

For me time stands still when I remember:

My first kiss…

The feeling of connection with someone special even in silence…

The joy in my heart for having loved…

Treasured snapshots of time captured in my mind, body and spirit…


When you look back through the scrapbook of your mind when does time stand still for you?

Who were you with?

Where were you?

What were your predominant feelings?

How has that experience benefited you?

What would you do or say if you had that time over again?

Last night I had the pleasure of connecting with someone from my past.  We’ve been in contact for nearly 20 years, seldom meeting though the thread of happy memories and times spent together have remained strong.

Time stood still for me last night  It’s as though I really was that person from 20 years ago.  It was an amazing experience to once more enjoy the connection and bond between two people and be transported back to that time and talk about so many happy memories.

I know that some of you may not have the opportunity to re-connect in the physical world with a loved one from your past though I want you to know that energetically the connections to those that you have loved never die. It is my belief that when you think of them that they will know this and send love to you in return.

I invite you to reflect on the times you have loved and to know that whatever the outcome as William Arthur Ward would say…..

”To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.

To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.

To reach out to another is to risk involvement.

To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.

To place your ideas and dreams before a crowd is to risk their loss.

To love is to risk not being loved in return.

To hope is to risk pain.

To try is to risk failure.

But risk must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing” 

Arthur’s poem reminds us that we are powerful creators in our lives and we still have time to take risks.

I for one am going to take all these risks….

The Power to Create

Every thought you think is creating your future!

Our minds are very powerful and we can create for ourselves a day of joy or a day of doom.

Just this morning I was reminded of this again by a friend who said the very same thing which inspired me to write this blog for you.

What kind of day do you want to create for yourself, what kind of week, month, year, FUTURE?


Much of how we spend our lives is based on the thoughts that we created.  Ideas we’ve had good or bad shape out future.  The good news is that we can change our thoughts as well as the things that no longer serve us including limiting beliefs.

  • What might you have created some time ago that no longer leaves you filled with joy?  
  • Have there been times in your life when you’ve accepted something because you may have thought there wouldn’t be different opportunities?  
  • Have you put up with something because you believed you weren’t worth more?  
  • Have you sacrificed your dreams because another person said you’d never achieve them and then their thoughts became your own?
  • Could it be that some time ago you thought you’d have to work just doing anything to pay the bills and you’re now in a job that doesn’t fulfil you?
  • Are you in a relationship that’s past it’s sell by date?
  • Is your home a place of happiness or do you wish to live closer to the sea, countryside, in town? 

What are you putting up with that’s dragging you and your thinking down? Is this really living your life with Purpose?

I want to remind you that you are a powerful creator, what you think about you can bring about.

What is it you want to create?….go do it!

I’m living proof that when we focus on what we want to create and take action towards the outcome, everything is possible.  8 years ago I set up my business without any financial backing, little emotional support from others and no guarantees that it would work.  I’ve created working with amazing clients, speaking opportunities, author opportunities, radio opportunities, magazine opportunities, in fact by taking action and having my thoughts aligned with my dreams I have actually created far more than than I dreamed of which has taught me now that creating can be a really big deal and you can have what you dream of and more.

What I’ve created for myself is a life worth living and you can do the same too.

The difference between success and failure is believing that you will be a success and acting as if it’s already a done deal.

Every day since I had a dream of doing the work I love and running it as a business, I took action, I worked through my limiting beliefs about what was possible for me.  I got clear on what I wanted, I spent time visualising it, feeling it and experiencing it even though it was to come to pass.   It’s fair to say I fell down a few times and shed more than a few tears along the way, this is all part of learning.  I had to listen to other people’s negative beliefs that I couldn’t make it work and to get a ‘proper job’, There were times when I didn’t know how I would pay my rent…still I kept going and taking action towards my dreams.

There are no limits, except in your mind. …..

  • What do you want to create?
  • Start acting as if it’s already been created…what does that look like, sound like and feel like?
  • How will you know you’ve achieved your dream?
  • What will fulfilling that dream give you that you don’t have now?
  • How will your life and the lives of others benefit from you showing up as a powerful creator in your own life?
  • What can you create today that your future self will be proud of?

Get into the flow of acting as if and add your own endings to these statements that are specific to your own personal goal/s

I enjoy…..

I’m excited at the thought of…..

I love being…..

I’m delighted that….

I appreciate….

Be sure to read every day for a week (or longer if you wish to) and start to notice how differently you feel about yourself and your future.

When you can change your mind set about what is possible rather than what is impossible this changes your energetic vibration, try it and see.

Endings and Beginnings

Yesterday March 20th 2015 marked the Spring Equinox a day of much hype as it was also a very special day marking a very rare solar eclipse and super moon.  There was a certain anticipation in the air and a stir of excitement.  The thing I love about the eclipse is it brings people together.  We all share the same planet and it was so great to see young and old together and different nationalities intermixed in the great outdoors, waiting with baited breath and camera posed for a shot of the eclipse.  Did you get a glimpse?

New moons are times that are opportunities to manifest.  A time for new birth.  New beginnings and for me that marks the opportunity for endings too.

What would you benefit from ending in your life?  

  • Could it be dysfunctional or toxic relationships?
  • Perhaps ending a job that you’re not happy in and finding one that leaves you eager to start work each day?
  • Could it be something that impacts your health like over eating, drinking, drugs or smoking?
  • Could it be deciding to move on from the past and starting today as the first day of the rest of your life?
  • What’s the cost to you if you don’t make these changes?
  • What would creating these endings make space for and what would that give you?

I spent some time yesterday writing up my new moon wishes.  I thought about the area’s of my life where I perhaps needed to be more compassionate towards myself and others.  I explored forgiveness and who I needed to forgive, including myself.  I pondered how I want to use my creativity and develop it further to benefit others.  I got in touch with the part of me that still wants to learn and develop.  I gained greater clarity about my future, what I want and where I’m headed. I let go of the thoughts that cause me suffering.  I decided to take better care of myself and to be sure I put myself first and consider when I say yes to things when I really want to say no.

How would you benefit exploring the very same areas and writing up your new moon wishes around compassion, forgiveness, creativity, personal  or psychic development, clarity, suffering, self care?  

Take a little time to do this as soon as you can, the new moon is very potent and will support you with the changes you wish to make.

Spring for many is a time for coming out of hibernation, a time for Spring cleaning the home and starting afresh.  Have you ever thought about spring cleaning your mind?



Spend some time over the weekend thinking about what physical possessions hold an energy of unhappy memories, how do these memories and emotions limit you?  How do they hold you back from achieving what you want?

  • Do you have clothes or possessions that are worn out, chipped, broken, damaged?  
  • What are you keeping hold of that you’re attached to gets in the way of you moving on?  

In Feng Shui we are advised to recycle, to throw away and clear the things  that are not useful, practical and beautiful.  These things create negative energy.

  • For example what do you have under your bed that you sleep on top of every night?
  • How might this be affecting you on an energetic/emotional level?
  • Move it, throw it, sort it and see what happens….

Since I made some changes in my own home my business and therefore income has increased and I no longer feel held back or ineffectual,  I have well and truly had a very good sort out and it was exhilarating to be free of physical possessions and the emotional attachment I had to them.

I know someone that had photo album, upon photo album of all her failed relationships under her bed along with the divorce papers and underwear that she had bought for special occasions for these different people.  It’s not great energy to be sleeping over all this old stuff that relates to relationship failure if you want to attract a new partner!

  • Is your mind in need of a spring clean too?
  • What stories and movies from the past do you keep replaying?
  • What emotions do you experience every day based on your thoughts about the past?  Sadness, regret, bitterness, anger?

I promise you the energy of this kind of thinking will leave you feeling less than positive and will be energetically holding you back from achieving what you want!

If you need to journal these old stories and get them out.  Burn them and bury them in the soil to transmute.

Use EFT (The Emotional Freedom Technique) to release blocked and stagnant energy from your body.  Throw out the things that hold you back in mind, body and spirit.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life….

Create Your Life On Purpose!

A Penny for Your Thoughts

There is an old fashioned saying ” A penny for your thoughts” Although no payment is received for giving your thoughts, they are listed to by the receiver asking you what’s up.  It’s just another way of asking what’s bothering a person or what they are thinking about.

Now imagine if your would, that each time you had a positive, loving and joyous thought pennies would be paid into your account or piggy bank.  There’s a school of thought that we think up to 70,000 thoughts in a day, imagine how rich you would be in just a short space of time if all those thoughts were kind, thoughtful, generous and loving.

We have 365 days in the year and on my calculator that’s £25,550,000 for starters.  Now some of you might be thinking about lack, and that you want a bigger investment sooner, well here’s the good news.

Whether you believe it or not  ‘Universal Law’ has the biggest ears you’ve ever seen.  It hears every thought you think and every word you speak.  If you feel poor in love, in debt financially and down on your luck, Universal Law will keep on chucking at you more of the same and I think we both know what that feels like an it’s no fun at all.

If you want more than pennies deposited, make sure the thoughts you deposit out into the ether are as a rich as they possibly can be.

Change your thoughts to change your abundance.  This is The Law of Attraction.

  • Instead of thinking about lack think about and focus on abundance.
  • If you want more money notice the money you already have coming in and be grateful for it, respect it, appreciate it.  
  • If you want more love, notice the love that you already have in your life.  That could be the love from friends, family, pets, love of a hobby or being in nature.
  • If you want improved health be in gratitude for the parts of your body that are mobile, healthy, able.  
  • If you want more happiness do things that make you happy, live in the moment and notice what there is to appreciate from life. 

I feel better just typing this stuff because I know through experience that when you appreciate what you have and you are in gratitude for that, more of that lovely love, wealth and health will show up for you.

Change begins with a single thought!

Just for fun….

Imagine that you had unlimited love, unlimited good health, unlimited financial abundance how would your life be different.  How would you be thinking, feeling and acting.   How would you spend your day, who with, what would be different about you and the people you mix with?

My belief is ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’ and i have learnt over the years that your thinking can lift you up or keep you down.  Thoughts create feelings, feelings create actions or lack of actions, those actions create results, the results of your life right now.

So wherever you are at right now, consider just for a moment how rich in health, wealth, love and happiness you feel. If you want more than what you’ve got, you, yes YOU have the power to create those things for yourself.

Every day, think about the title of my blog and ”give me a penny for your thoughts” and catch yourself thinking.  Become an observer of your thoughts.  Do  your thoughts make you feel rich, vibrant, healthy, positive, joyous, loving?  If it’s a no, change the thought!.

Change your mindset and act as if you have unlimited health, wealth, love and happiness and keep thinking about those things until you feel the energy of those things moving through you. Empires are built with a single thought, I wonder what you can build today that your future self will thank you for?

Life is meant for living, laughing and loving.  Today is the first day of the rest of your life.  Make every penny count!
